US Copyright Statement - Radio Shows

we have checked with the Library of Congress regarding the status of old time radio recordings made prior to 1978, and have been informed by their staff that all such recordings are generally in the public domain, as sound recordings were not allowed under the previous copyright law and that such recordings have not been granted copyright status under the new laws (since to change their status and move them out of the Public Domain would be a violation of Ex-Post-Facto). Once a piece is placed into the public domain for any reason, it remains there legally unless someone brings a case to the Supreme Court to decide otherwise.

Any programs you order from this site are from my personal collection and have never been purchased from a commercial source. My collection has been built through trades and purchases from other Old Time Radio fans and their own private collections. It is my understanding that all material offered  on this site is in the public domain. If this is not so and you hold a legal copyright to anything offered here please email 40s Radio Mysteries so that the series can removed from this site.

40s Radio Mysteries does not offer these public domain old time radio shows for sale nor does it claim any ownership. Proceeds received here at 40s Radio Mysteries are not in any way a payment for the programs themselves, but are to offset the costs of  equipment, supplies, website expenses and increasing the library of  titles in our private collection.

On this site you will find thousands of classic old time radio programs available on CD in MP3

audio format. If you are not familiar with this format, please note that it is not playable in a standard

CD player. The files are playable on computers, many CD MP3 players, and certain DVD players. I

use  the Rio Volt MP3 CD player & the Creative MP3 player which are available in most major

electronics stores and retailers like Wal-Mart and in many places online.

You can learn more about Mp3 by clicking here and going to Mp3 page where there are links to click on and learn more about this audio format.

The CD's you purchase here are created by me from blank discs and I will label them by hand. Each disc ships in its own protective envelope or on a CD spindle to prevent damage.
