What is Mp3

Mp3 is an Audio file format that allows you to compress standard audio to about 1/10th the size you would find on a music CD. Example with mp3 you can put about 50 hours of audio on an 80 minute CD disk. Most old time radio collectors are storing their collection on harddrives and CDs in this format.

A CD recorded in Mp3 cannot be read by a regular CD player but these CDs can be played by your computer, some DVD players and portable CD players designed to play Mp3 as well as regular CDs. You can also drag the files from the CD direct to your mp3 player. You can find these playback devices on line, Best Buy, Target, Wal-Mart and most of the popular electronic stores.

For those of you that want to learn more about Mp3 I have listed some links below that will take you to Mp3 specialized areas on the net where you can learn as much as you want about this technology.
